Mission
VLP's dual mission is to:
(1) provide quality free civil legal services for low income people and smaller not for profit groups; and
(2) to effectively involve volunteers in the delivery of those services.

Functions and Responsibilities
The Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP) is a program created by Neighborhood Legal Services, Inc., (NLS) and the Bar Association of Erie County.

The primary function of this organization is to recruit, train and coordinate the work of over 800 volunteer attorneys; provide client intake, case screening and matching of clients and attorneys.

VLP consists of private attorneys who represent low-income people for free. To see what areas assistance is available for, check the Services menu.
